Will not be bringing the whole list unless there's drastic changes....

SALEM'S HOT AIR BLOGGING:

Update: An early trickle of exit poll data points to a good night for Romney: “The early exit polls show 44 percent of the New Hampshire electorate so far is independent. The biggest winner among them? Mitt Romney with 30 percent. Ron Paul is second, Jon Huntsman is third.”

Update: A really good night for Romney, maybe. From the Times’s Brian Stelter: “Network execs privately say they expect to be able to call NH for Romney at 8pm sharp. The race for 2nd will take longer.”

Update: Suddenly, 40 percent doesn’t sound so unlikely.

Romney leads in early returns in New Hampshire

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) -- Mitt Romney jumped ahead in early returns from the New Hampshire primary Tuesday night, eager to add to the previous week's first-place finish in the Iowa caucuses and cement himself as the man to beat for the Republican presidential nomination.

Returns from the first 7 percent of precincts showed the former Massachusetts governor with 36 percent of the vote, followed by Texas Rep. Ron Paul with 25 percent and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman with 15 percent.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum trailed with 11 percent and 10 percent respectively.

NBC NEWS PROJECTS ROMNEY WINS!

FOX PROJECTS DOUBLE DIGIT ROMNEY WIN...DEVELOPING..
[All Projections w/ 10% Counted]

HOT AIR BLOGGING:

Update: It’s 8 p.m. and only 10 percent of precincts have reported, but the Foxies have seen enough: They’ve called it for Romney. Interestingly, as I write this, Paul is only a little more than 10 points behind Mitt (35.5% to 25%). If it held up, that’d be a bit closer than everyone expected. One other interesting exit-poll data point from Fox: Romney won a plurality of late deciders with 29%. Huntsman was second at 22%. I guess Bain didn’t hurt him so badly after all. Yet.

Old tea-party goal: Stop Romney from winning the nomination. New tea-party goal: Stop Romney from winning all 50 primaries. Heart-ache.

Update: Fox has also called second place for Paul promptly at 8. Is that the end for Huntsman, then? Finish a distant second to Romney is one thing but what’s his rationale for continuing when he can’t pull enough independents even to top Paul?

The official exit poll results via Political Wire: “Romney 36%, Paul 23%, Huntsman 18%, Santorum 10%, Gingrich 10% and Perry 1%.”

FOX NEWS PROJECTS RON PAUL TAKES #2 SLOT...

Two For Two:Romney wins New Hampshire primary; Paul second; Huntsman third

quote:

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won the New Hampshire primary Tuesday night, adding to a first-place finish in last week’s Iowa caucuses and establishing himself as the man to beat for the Republican presidential nomination.

Texas Rep. Ron Paul led former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman for second place, with Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum trailing.

Returns from the first 13 percent of the state’s precincts showed Romney with 36 percent of the vote, followed by Paul with 24 percent and Huntsman with 18 percent.

Former House Speaker Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Sen. Santorum had 10 percent and 9 percent respectively.
HOT AIR BLOGGING:

Update:Huntsman tells NBC he won’t quit. Of course, Bachmann said that on caucus night too only to change her mind the next day. Good news if true, though, for Romney-haters: He’ll peel a few moderate votes away from Mitt in South Carolina, albeit not as many as he would have if he had finished a strong second tonight.

AUDIO: Limbaugh: Newt’s rhetoric ‘sounds like left-wing social engineering’

quote:

Limbaugh compared a Gingrich “Fox & Friends” appearance on Tuesday morning to Obama’s April 2010 remark that “at a certain point you’ve made enough money.” But in a critique reminiscent of Gingrich’s May 2011 attack on Wisconsin Republican Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget roadmap, Limbaugh called Gingrich’s commentary “left-wing social engineering.”

“The way Newt is talking here — I never heard him speak this way before, I must tell you,” Limbaugh said. “And the way he is speaking, this sounds like left-wing social engineering. Does it not, when I have to play an audio sound bite from Barack Obama to translate what Newt said about Romney and Bain?”

Limbaugh also disclosed that his Bain Capital was his syndication partner since the firm bought his former syndicator Clear Channel Communications in 2006. But he said in his dealing with the company, it has been nothing like what Gingrich is describing. He also said Gingrich’s remarks were something you might see on an Occupy Wall Street flyer.
